TO PREPARE YOUR SKIN AND ENSURE THE BEST RESULTS:
Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanners for 2–4 weeks prior.
Discontinue retinols, AHAs/BHAs, benzoyl peroxide, and any active ingredients 3–5 days before treatment.
No chemical peels or microdermabrasion for at least 2 weeks before your laser appointment.
Let us know if you’ve used Accutane in the past 6–12 months.
Come with a clean, makeup-free face, also no lotions or oils before.
Let us know about any cold sore history, antiviral medication may be recommended as a precaution.
Excessive sun exposure before or after your appointment can also increase the risk, as UV rays can weaken the skin’s immune response and cause dormant viruses like HSV-1 (cold sores) to resurface.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE TREATMENT:
Most describe the sensation as a warm snapping or prickling, very tolerable, and no numbing is required.
You might notice that during the service you smell a "burnt" scent. Do not be alarmed. This is because the laser targets fine hair too.
You may see mild redness or warmth during and immediately after the session.
The laser pulses gently heat the deeper layers of skin to stimulate collagen and break up pigmentation, all without damaging the surface layer.
The treatment typically takes 5–15 minutes depending on the area.
We do multiple passes over problem areas with dark spots and other types of discoloration.
This treatment is non-ablative, meaning it doesn’t remove the top layer of skin, so downtime is minimal. But your skin is still doing deep healing!
Help your skin recover and glow with these simple steps:
We have Organic post care recommendations available to you at the studio!
Soothe: Use a gentle, non-comedogenic moisturizer if skin feels warm or tight.
Skip active ingredients (retinol, acids, exfoliants) for at least 14 days post-treatment.
Hydrate: Drink water and moisturize regularly to support skin healing.
Protect: Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily, sun exposure is the #1 cause of post-treatment complications.
Use a gentle cleanser, no scrubbing or exfoliating for 5–7 days.
Avoid heavy makeup for at least 3-5 days post-treatment.
Skip swimming, steam rooms, hot yoga, and saunas for 24–48 hours to avoid irritation.
Avoid INTENSE working out for for 7 days
IMMEDIATELY AFTER:
Skin may be pink or slightly flushed, similar to a mild sunburn.
You may feel warmth or tightness for a few hours.
Please be sure to have a clean pillow case after your sessions are complete.
24-48 HOURS AFTER:
Redness will fade.
Skin may feel dry or lightly rough as old cells begin to shed.
3-5 DAYS AFTER:
You’ll start to notice brighter, more even skin.
Any pigmentation treated may darken slightly before fading.
1-2 WEEKS POST TREATMENT:
Collagen production continues.
Skin looks and feels more refreshed and even-toned.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Full Results: You can expect to see the full, final results over 3 to 6 months as your skin regenerates and heals
New Skin Appears: The new, rejuvenated skin will initially appear pink and gradually lighten over two to three months.
Peeling/Flaking: About a week after the treatment, the skin may become dry and peel. This is a positive sign of skin rejuvenation. If it does not, that is also normal.
Fading of Pigmentation: Unwanted pigment should significantly lighten or clear in a few sessions.
Collagen Stimulation: Our laser stimulates collagen production, which helps improve tone and texture
Skin Regeneration: The treated skin undergoes a regenerative process, leading to improved texture and tone over the weeks following the treatment.
Prompt Healing: The treatment site generally heals quickly
Temporarily Pronounced Discoloration: You might notice temporary darkening of pigmentation as it rises to the skin's surface before being eliminated.
Swelling: Minor swelling may occur, typically subsiding within a few days.
Sunburn-like Sensation: Immediately after the treatment, some may experience a feeling similar to a sunburn.
Mild Tingling/Snapping Sensation: During the treatment, some individuals may feel a mild tingling or snapping sensation.
Mild Redness (Erythema): Some patients may experience redness (erythema) after treatment, which usually resolves within 24 hours.
Basically no downtime: facial resurfacing procedures typically has little downtime
Breaking out is normal because the skin can go through a purging process before it gets better. This should only last for a few days at most.
Cold sores can be a possibility, especially if you’re already prone to them. Heat and inflammation from treatments can sometimes trigger a flare-up, particularly in areas where the virus already lives in the body.
